A: When you become a free registered member of ContestLife.com you can submit contests for approval. Since ContestLife.com currently only lists brand-name contests, many user-submitted contests don’t get approved because they don’t meet the brand-name standard, unfortunately.
We are, however, considering having a separate section for user-submitted contests for the contesters who enjoy entering any and all contests, even the small ones with small prizes. Is this something that would appeal to you?
Thanks to lklima for letting us know that the link to the “Ultimate Weekend in Toronto” Contest from The Bay no longer works. Upon further investigation, the contest link disappeared on Nov 16th and now is not even mentioned on The Bay’s contest page. They can’t just announce a contest, collect registrations and then cancel the contest without any explanation.
Also, The Bay’s “Holiday Girl” contest has a Rules button which incorrectly goes to the entry form. Having a legal set of rules is what is supposed to set the trusted big brands apart…. in theory anyway. The policy at ContestLife.com is we won’t post the link to a contest until we have reviewed the rules and regulations of each contest.
Please get your act together, HBC! We have notified HBC about these issues and let’s hope they provide an explanation. We will keep you updated here. Stay tuned!

I just got this email from McDonald’s since I haven’t participated in McDonald’s Monopoly since the pre-promotion free code. It’s so thoughtful of them to send another one!
Here is the email.

Go ahead and use this code: ONLYPLYRSWN at the McDonald’s Monopoly website.

The October 2009 newsletter is here delivering to you the hottest contests worth entering right now! Great contests from TD & HGTV and Best Buy among many others.
When ContestLife.com found a shiny looking Telus contest called "The Ultimate TELUS Mobile Internet Package Contest" with only an IP address as the URL, we were suspicious and reluctant to promote it to our loyal audience. So we decided it was not worth publishing on ContestLife.com But this didn’t stop many other contest websites from posting this contest, who are more concerned about delivering contests in quantity, not quality.
Just now it has come to light that this suspicious-looking website is indeed not from Telus. Here is an official response from a Telus representative:
We have conferred with our Web Development Team and our Promotions department and have determined that the Web site included with your inquiry is not a legitimate TELUS contest. We thank you for bringing this to our attention so that we may take the necessary steps to deal with this matter.
We have verified that currently 5 other contest websites are still unaware they are promoting a phishing scam. Have any of you become a victim of the bogus website?
A whois query on the owner of the IP returns this generic company.
OrgName: Webair Internet Development Inc

The morale of the story is, do your homework before handing over your personal information. A slick-looking website doesn’t cut it.

Well, no reply from HBC and their contest page changes everyday, really. Now the Ultimate Weekend is back as a different link and The “Holiday Girl” contest mentioned above is no longer there. I think their website has a mind of it’s own!

Good luck.
